AllPaws Pet Photography: Awards

allpaws_header_image-2Our Photographer, Terry Schmidbauer won the Portrait category in the Kennel Club’s Dog Photographer of the Year competition 2010.

The beautifully composed image of Mischu a Wheaton Terrier/Poodle cross was chosen by the panel of esteemed judges including acclaimed fine art photographer Tim Flach. 

The annual competition was open to any dog lover, professional photographer and amateur alike with a camera and a good eye, all proceeds from the competition went to the Kennel Club Chartable Trust.

Mischu was diagnosed with lymphoma in the Spring of 2010 and after two chemo treatments, holistic medicine and lots of love she seemed cancer free.  But the cancer was lurking and took her life in October of 2010.

 

 

 

 whiskersTerry won an Honorable Mention for this image in the 2011 Santa Fe Workshop's Photo Contest. The theme was light. The competition was robust, and the decisions difficult. Jurors Steve St. John, Amy Feitelberg, and Nevada Wier reviewed 2777 images submitted by 751 photographers from 29 countries—including Columbia, Ecudaor, Israel, Kuwait, Slovenia and South Africa—and chose 50 award-winning photographs.
